Phone Quadpod
Spring 2020
The Phone Quadpod was my individual project for my Engineering Graphics course at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I modelled it in SolidWorks, and it was going to be printed on a cutting-edge SLS printer, until COVID-19 hit.
Original design idea
One of the limitations I had to work with was that each part had to fit in a 3-inch cube, and the overall project had a maximum of four parts. To work with this limitation, the scale of the design was adapted to fit a small phone or some playing cards. After completing the CAD model, I wrote a report on all the features of my product, which can be viewed here.
Final Render
Overall, this project was a great exercise for tolerancing and a useful introduction to SolidWorks.
