Headphone Repair
Personal Project — August-December 2020
One of the side panels of my headphones broke off one day, and instead of purchasing another pair, I decided I would repair it instead. I modelled the replacement parts in SolidWorks and printed them on my Ender 3 Pro with PLA. I took opportunity to practice my tolerancing and iterative design capabilities, as this project was quite small.
Iterations 1, 2 and 4 of the project
I began by drawing a rough sketch of the solution I wanted, and modelling the first iteration. I then made improvements on the model until I achieved the desired result, which can be seen below. I snagged a few screws from the basement that seemed to work, and printed out the final model.
Iteration 5
I struggled a bit with the tolerances at first, but quickly adjusted and managed to get the final result to near-perfection. I was also able to develop my skills in efficient modelling in SolidWorks.
